Nick Wilde: Okay, press conference 101. You wanna look smart? Answer their question with your own question, and then answer that question. Like this: ‘Excuse me, Officer Hopps. What can you tell us about the case?’
Nick: [turning] ‘Well, was this a tough case? Yes, yes it was.’ You see?
Judy Hopps: You should be up there with me.We did this together.
Nick: Well, am I a cop? No. No, I am not.
In this interesting scene from Zootopia (2016), we can learn something from the fox (Nick) about public speaking. He teaches a nervous bunny (Judy) to answer her own questions. She preempts questions and answers them before they can be asked. Pretty sneaky fox!
In your own talk, let’s say you receive a question from the audience. Don’t sweat! You got to show that the question doesn’t faze you. Show that you’ve already thought through it beforehand. Nothing hurts your image more than stammering out an “I never thought of this”.
